Presbyterian College redshirt sophomore Christian Charalambous was named Big South Co-Starting Pitcher of the Week, according to a March 16 announcement by the conference.
The recognition follows Charalambous’s standout performance on March 14, when he pitched a complete game shutout against UNC Asheville. His effort helped the Blue Hose secure an 11-0 victory in conference play at home.
Charalambous pitched all nine innings, allowing only four hits and striking out seven batters. Both his nine innings pitched and seven strikeouts marked career highs for him. The complete game shutout was also notable as it was the first for Presbyterian College since Brian Kehner achieved one on March 17, 2017, against Army.
This marks the first weekly Big South honor for Presbyterian this season. Charalambous is also the first starting pitcher from Presbyterian to receive this award since Daniel Eagen in 2024.
The achievement highlights both individual and team progress within the program as they continue their season.
