Senior goalkeeper Kayleigh Aitken has been named the Adidas / Game One PC Student-Athlete of the Week after helping lead the Presbyterian College women’s lacrosse team to its first win of 2026. Aitken played 50 minutes in Sunday’s home game against New Haven, recording seven saves and allowing only three goals in an eight-point victory.

Aitken, who is from Canada, led all players on her team with four ground ball recoveries and held New Haven scoreless for more than 19 consecutive minutes in the second half. When she left the field with less than 10 minutes remaining, Presbyterian was ahead 14-3.

Under head coach Eric Clakeley, Aitken has made at least seven saves in four of her last five games dating back to last season. She now has a total of 171 career saves and has played 170 minutes across the first four matches this year.

The Blue Hose defense forced New Haven into 13 turnovers and limited them to just three goals through three quarters. This marked the first time since April 2024 that Presbyterian entered the fourth quarter having allowed three or fewer goals.

Presbyterian will play its next game on the road at Kennesaw State on Tuesday, followed by another away match at Delaware State later in the week. The team will try to end a five-game losing streak against Kennesaw State and continue its unbeaten record against Delaware State.

The athletic department at Presbyterian partnered with Game One—an official Adidas team dealer—in November 2022 through a multi-year apparel agreement. Adidas has supplied gear for Blue Hose athletics since 2015. Game One provides sports equipment and apparel to about 13,000 schools and organizations across 38 states.

Aitken joins previous recipients of the Adidas / Game One Student-Athlete of the Week award from various sports at Presbyterian College during this academic year.
