The Presbyterian College baseball team will return to its home field on April 10 for a three-game series against Winthrop at the PC Baseball Complex. This marks the Blue Hose’s first home appearance since March 17, with games scheduled from Friday through Sunday.
The matchup is significant as both teams compete in the Big South Conference, and Friday night’s contest will also serve as PC’s Pink Out game. Presbyterian enters the series with a record of 6-28 overall and 2-7 in conference play, while Winthrop holds a stronger record at 22-11 overall and remains undefeated in conference games at 6-0.
Probable pitching matchups include Tyrell Williams facing Brayden Gilley on Friday, Christian Charalambous versus Luke Earnhardt on Saturday, and Tristan McGregor against Randy Guzman on Sunday. Bo Moody has been highlighted for his performance this season, leading the team in several offensive categories including batting average (.364), hits (40), runs scored (29), on-base percentage (.493), stolen bases (11), and doubles (10). Moody currently maintains a 19-game on-base streak and has twice been named Big South Freshman of the Week.
Matthew Rollison recently delivered a standout performance by hitting three home runs in one game against Charleston Southern, tying the program’s Division I single-game record. He was recognized as Big South Player of the Week following that achievement. On pitching, Charalambous leads Presbyterian in innings pitched with over 37 frames this season; McGregor leads with 31 strikeouts.
Head coach Elton Pollock is now in his 22nd season leading the Blue Hose. Last year he guided a young roster through one of their toughest non-conference schedules yet and secured an important win over No. 23 Alabama.
Looking ahead after this weekend’s series, Presbyterian will begin a five-game road trip starting Tuesday against Wofford.
