Presbyterian Blue Hose golf team completes first round at ECU Intercollegiate

The Presbyterian Blue Hose men’s golf team completed the first round of the ECU Intercollegiate at Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville, North Carolina, on March 15.

The tournament is significant for the team as it provides an opportunity to compete against a strong field and assess their performance early in the season. Presbyterian finished the opening round in 14th place with a score of 310 (+22), while UNCW led after shooting a 274 (-2).

Sophomore Jeep Patrick led the Blue Hose, finishing his round with a score of 75 (+3) and securing five birdies and seven pars. Junior Avery Barnes and freshman James Rhodes both shot rounds of 78 (+6). Barnes recorded two birdies and ten pars, while Rhodes had one birdie and twelve pars. Sophomore Richard Anaclerio posted a score of 79 (+7) with one birdie and twelve pars, and junior Spence Hagood finished with an 80 (+8), also tallying twelve pars.

The event continues to be an important test for the team’s lineup, featuring players from multiple class years contributing to the overall effort. The results from this tournament will help inform future strategies as they progress through their season schedule.

Presbyterian is set to continue play with round two of the ECU Intercollegiate on Monday, March 16.
