The Presbyterian College women’s lacrosse team will recognize its senior players during the penultimate home match of the season against Longwood, scheduled for April 11 at Bailey Memorial Stadium. The game is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

This event marks Senior Night for six Blue Hose players: Kayleigh Aitken, Brooklyn Shepard-Wheelon, Melissa Mucollari, Alyssa Perez, Avery West, and Olivia Ballard. Each will be honored in a pregame ceremony for their contributions to the program.

Both Presbyterian and Longwood enter the contest with identical conference records as they compete for positioning in the Big South Championship picture. Presbyterian is coming off a double-overtime win over Gardner-Webb earlier in the week and is aiming for its first postseason appearance since 2016.

Longwood’s recent games include a close loss to Furman after leading by two goals heading into the final quarter and a defeat by High Point earlier this month. Dwayne Hicks is serving his second season as Longwood’s head coach after being promoted in 2024.

Among individual highlights, sophomore Madison Rogers from Longwood has scored in every game this season; Presbyterian’s Alyssa Perez shares that distinction within the conference despite currently recovering from an ankle injury. Head coach Eric Clakeley’s team recently staged a comeback victory against Gardner-Webb, with Emily Currie scoring five goals including the winner in double overtime.

The seniors being recognized have each made significant impacts during their time with Presbyterian. Aitken has surpassed 1,500 minutes played as goalkeeper; Shepard-Wheelon has contributed steadily on defense; Mucollari returned from injury to play her fifth year; Perez posted career-best numbers this season; West stands among school leaders in defensive statistics; Ballard has started every game of her collegiate career.
