Greenwood County recently issued the following announcement.
Next month we will have TWO Community Clean Ups! The weather is cool and it's a perfect time to get out and clean up before holiday visitors!
The first Saturday in November we will be cleaning up The Wheatfield Subdivision starting at 8am. We will meet at the Restoration Worship Center at 1510 Evans Pond Rd and end around 10am.
The very next Saturday (November 13th) we will be back on the streets cleaning up the Country Homes neighborhood also starting at 8am. Meeting place TBA, but due to the size of the neighborhood residents are strongly encouraged to join in on their own time. Contact the Litter Prevention Coordinator for questions and supplies.
As stated above, fall is the perfect time to clean up our roads and clean ups are picking up. Contact the Litter Prevention Coordinator for supplies to do your own pick up. Join in on a Team Up to Clean Up activity (with Keep Greenwood County Beautiful), Adopt-a-Highway, or just clean up an area of a park. There are many opportunities to clean up our streets. Multiple can happen in a weekend or some can even be planned for the weekday. Clean ups can be flexible to your schedule and full bags can be arranged to be picked up for your convenience. All supplies can be provided for you.
Contact the Litter Prevention Coordinator for more information.
