Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on January 14.
"The work we were able to do in 2020 came to fruition in a major way in 2021. Investments continued in historically-strong sectors like manufacturing and logistics. But we also saw our efforts to diversify investment countywide pay off. Knowledge-based jobs came to our community in waves as corporate headquarters were recruited to Spartanburg, as were life sciences and technology-driven projects. Thanks to a proactive approach to economic development, Spartanburg is poised to shape a strong future in 2022 and beyond." — Katherine O'Neill, Chief Economic Development Officer
