Newberry College issued the following announcement on February 15.
NEWBERRY — Newberry College will break ground on its highly anticipated Nursing & Health Science Center next Monday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. The event will take place at the construction site at the corner of College and Evans streets. Featured speakers will include President Maurice Scherrens, Dr. Sid Parrish, vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Jerry Alewine, Dr. John Thompson, internal medicine specialist, and junior Nathaniel Carrasco, student body president.
The 11,000-square-foot facility will include state-of-the-art classrooms and simulation labs, and will provide the space and technology required by the ever-changing health care industry.
Face coverings are required inside Newberry College buildings and where social distancing is not possible. Face coverings are not required outdoors.
