Newberry College issued the following announcement on March 7.
NEWBERRY — Newberry College will break ground on the second phase of renovations at the athletic stadium this Saturday, March 12, at 4 p.m. The event will take place on the east side of the stadium near Pearson Hall.
The newest additions will include an 18,000-square-foot field house with locker rooms for football, lacrosse, and field hockey; coaches’ offices; field-view classrooms; and receptions areas, and new east spectator seating.
Featured speakers will include President Maurice Scherrens; Eric Wells '87, vice chair of the Board of Trustees; Wayne Alexander, interim director of athletics; Head Football Coach Todd Knight; Joel Davis, president of JDavis Construction; and junior Marissa Plumer, field hockey and lacrosse student-athlete.
Face coverings are required inside Newberry College buildings and where social distancing is not possible. Face coverings are not required outdoors.
