Lander’s College of Arts & Humanities Announces 2022-23 Season of Events

Lander University’s College of Arts & Humanities has announced a fantastic lineup of music and art events for the 2022-23 academic year.

“We are excited to showcase the incredible talents of our students and faculty, as well as our renowned guest artists and musicians,” said Dr. Mark Rollins, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities. “From exhibits, recitals and concerts on campus, to unique cultural opportunities in Uptown Greenwood, this season has it all.”

Highlights of the 2022-23 season include:

  • A fall performance by the Astralis Chamber Ensemble, whose innovative and dynamic playing, and creative programing and presentations, make classical music accessible.
  • Lander’s inaugural MAT and MFA exhibits, featuring work from graduate students completing their degrees.
  • The annual University Singers Christmas Concert, featuring beautiful selections to usher in the holiday season.
  • A solo exhibit and celebration of Charleston-based visual artist Tom Stanley. With roots in South Carolina as an artist and educator, Stanley spent most of his academic career at Winthrop University. A gallery curator and director for decades, he is known for his highly symbolic approach to painting, and his work has been exhibited across the United States, Germany, France and Portugal. Stanley is a recipient of the Governor’s Award in the Arts, and is currently represented by The George Gallery in Charleston.
  • The Piano Festival Concert, featuring Billboard hits from the 1950s to today.
  • The fast-paced “Collage of Cities” concert, with songs named after cities.
  • April’s Uptown Artwalk, featuring the senior exhibit of Lander BFA graduates at the Arts Center of Greenwood, as well as works by other student artists at Uptown venues.
  • A Bachelor of Design senior exhibit, featuring the finest work of Lander’s graduating graphic design artists.
