CBS CONTRIBUTOR AND POLITICAL CONSULTANT ANTJUAN SEAWRIGHT TO DELIVER 2023 BOOKER T. INGRAM CONVOCATION ADDRESS

Frequent media guest and political consultant Antjuan Seawright will deliver this year’s Booker T. Ingram Convocation address at Presbyterian College.

Seawright, a CBS political contributor and the chief executive officer of BluePrint Strategy, LLC, will speak at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, in Edmunds Hall as part of the college’s celebration of Black History Month.

Seawright is the founder of BluePrint Strategy, a public relations, advertising, and political consulting firm based in South Carolina. He has led numerous grassroots and strategic efforts for political clients at the national, state, and local levels throughout his career.

He has advised campaigns for governors, the U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, the S.C. General Assembly, and other down-ballot races. In 2008 and 2016, he advised the presidential campaigns for Hillary Clinton and has advised the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the S.C. Democratic Party, the Georgia State Democratic Party, and the New York State Democratic Party. He has also worked with the S.C. State Senate Democratic Caucus, and Protecting Our Vote, a Democratic Super PAC.

Seawright continues to serve as the senior advisor to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Democratic National Committee. He is currently a senior visiting fellow at Third Way, a national think-tank that champions modern center-left political ideas.

A 2008 graduate of Winthrop University, Seawright earned a master’s degree in business administration from Webster University in 2010. He is also a graduate of the Congressional Black Caucus Institute boot camp.

An active and award-winning community activist, Seawright also has a voice on the national stage as a frequent political commentator. He is a CBS News contributor and an opinion writer for The Hill, BuzzFeed News, BETNews.com, and The Christian Recorder. He hosts “Insight with Antjuan Seawright,” a weekly public affairs radio show based in South Carolina, and is the co-host of “Hot Button Mondays” with Rev. Al Sharpton on Sharpton’s national radio show, “Keepin’ It Real.”

The Ingram Lecture is named for Dr. Booker T. Ingram Jr., PC’s first African-American professor and its first director of diversity and inclusion. Ingram retired in 2021 as the Charles Dana Professor of Political Science and was an early driving force behind the college’s celebration of Black History Month.
