Lander University Professor of Art History Dr. James Romaine discusses the work of South Carolina artist William H. Johnson at the Greenwood Arts Center on Tuesday, Feb. 21. Following Romaine’s presentation, Lander Professor of Art Elizabeth Snipes analyzed the work of South Carolina artist Jonathan Green. The lectures were connected to two arts center exhibits, “Gullah Spirit: Jonathan Green” and “Sewn by the Sea: Sweetgrass Basketry,” and made possible by a major grant from South Carolina Humanities.
Works by Johnson and Green will be on display at the arts center through Friday, March 3.
