5.7% of Greenwood County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Greenwood County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,810 people out of the 69,338 living in Greenwood County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Greenwood County has decreased compared to the 6.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Greenwood County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 29,813 people who had a job during that time, 36 were employed in the Armed Forces and 29,777 belonged to the civilian labor force.
