Lander University: Yates to lead faculty development efforts at Lander University

Lander University issued the following announcement on August 24.

Lander University has named Dr. Jennifer Yates as assistant provost of Faculty Development, Teaching and Learning, according to Dr. Scott Jones, provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs at Lander. In this role she will build and direct a new Center for Faculty Excellence.

Yates holds a Ph.D. in neurobiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She comes to Lander University from the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute at West Virginia University. Yates will also join the psychology faculty at Lander.

Prior to her time at WVU, she served as the founding director of the David O. Robbins Neuroscience Program at Ohio Wesleyan University, and as the assistant director of faculty development for the Innovation in Learning Center at the University of South Alabama, where she oversaw several faculty development programs.

“I am thrilled to be joining the administration and faculty here at Lander,” said Yates. “With the inspiring growth Lander has experienced over the last several years, I am very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.  I look forward to working with these engaged and caring Lander faculty.”

“We are excited to have Dr. Yates join our team at Lander University,” added Jones. “Her experience leading faculty development efforts at other institutions made her a perfect choice for this role.”
